FASB in the Real World: 2010 GAAP Guide

2010 GAAP streamlines the transition between the GAAP hierarchy and the new FASB Accounting Standards Codification

Over the long haul, FASB’s new GAAP codification should make life easier for professional and corporate accountants. But in the short run, trying to make sense of the sweeping changes could leave a lot of folks harried.

One resource that can ease the pain is CCH’s 2010 GAAP Guide. The new guide, written by leaders in their field, is published as a two-volume set that analyzes authoritative GAAP literature in plain English with practice pointers and illustrations to cut through the complexity. Instead of hypothetical language, the guide offers practical, real-world examples that clarify accounting principles.

The new set’s pre- and post-codification reference system also simplifies searches. Users can locate information by using the cross reference, which shows the chapter in which a particular pronouncement is discussed; via the index, which provides a quick and handy page reference; or by using the chapters’ table of contents, which lists all topics covered and the pages on which they begin.
